Thanks to everyone who came out to support our Pancake Supper Fundraiser on March 3rd. A fun evening was had by all!
Special thanks to Fundraising Coordinator Suna Russell for putting together an excellent event and to all of our staff and parent volunteers for their time and enthusiasm; without them we would not have had such a successful evening.
And another thanks to our sponsors for the evening for their contributions and donations to the event: B&H Grocer, Giant Tiger, Food Basics, Jonssons YIG, Walmart, Cedar Grove Farms, Mr. Mozzerella, O'Farrell Financial Services, and our wonderful school staff and school council.
Candace Sceviour-Hay has stepped down from the position of Fundraising Coordinator. Thank you Candace for all of your hard work in this position. And welcome to Suna Russell and thank you for joining the council as Fundraising Coordinator.
Our annual Drop & Shop took place on Dec. 9 &10 and was again a huge success! We would like to congratulate and send a great big THANK YOU to Alicia and her team of volunteers for running another terrific Drop & Shop event! The students were absolutely thrilled to attend this event.
The grand total for this year was $1794. The place was sold out by 11 am today, with only a few remaining items dropped off at the Salvation Army.
Great job, and thank you to our South Branch families for their donations of items and gift wrap. Without everyone's contributions, the event would not be the success that it is. More information here.
Spirit Wear orders have all been collected and should be ready before the break. Thanks to all who placed an order. For more information, click here.
And don't forget to click on the calendar link to the right to keep track of the goings on at the school. We will do our best to keep the calendar up to date.
Welcome and Welcome Back
Welcome to the South Branch School Council. We hope everyone had a great summer and we look forward to the 2015/2016 school year. A special welcome to all the new South Branch families who have joined us this year.
The South Branch School Council is comprised of a group of individuals who are dedicated to enhancing the school experience for South Branch students, and to supporting learning in a variety of ways. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month and are always looking for new members and ideas; drop in to one of our meetings to join in the discussion.
Throughout the school year South Branch School Council holds a number of fundraisers to support the school and teaching staff. Through the generosity of our supporters we have been able to raise a significant amount of money, which we then put back in to the school. During the 2014/2015 school year School Council approved:
South Branch School Council is, at its core, made up of a group of dedicated volunteers. We are always looking for assistance, so if you are looking for a way to get involved in your child's school experience consider volunteering with us, even if you can only offer a few hours.
We truly believe that South Branch is a great school to be a part of and we look forward to another great school year. Thank you to everyone who supports our Council by attending meetings, volunteering at Council activities, and/or supporting our fundraisers - we couldn't do it without you!
One of the goals of our School Council is to give the students of South Branch a variety of lunch choices throughout the week. These choices include chicken tenders, pizza, and subs along with the option of milk and juice. Order form are submitted on a monthly basis.
Please visit our Lunch Program page for more information.
An important aspect of our monthly meetings is the topic of fundraising. Without fundraising we as a Parent Council would not be able to provide the many extras that our children are able to experience. Our school community - which includes YOU - deserves a huge pat on the back for the dedication and commitment that has been shown. The Council takes great care at making these decisions and you can too!
